Ježíškova vnoučata contributed to llama therapy

The city council agreed to accept a financial donation of 27,000 CZK from the Ježíškova vnoučata public fundraiser by the Czech Radio Foundation for the Máj Senior Home. The contribution will be used to implement the project "Animal Visits" in the senior home. “Specifically, this involves llama therapy, in which alpacas play the main role. According to experts, petting and cuddling these friendly animals releases endorphins, which promote feelings of happiness and well-being, and even a walk with an alpaca is a great pleasure. These kind and good-natured animals, with their attentive, respectful, and slightly curious behavior, can create a friendly atmosphere, and it has been proven that they can engage even people who otherwise do not show much interest in any activity.” says Mayor Dagmar Škodová Parmová.

According to the director of the social facility, Petra Zimmelová, the animal therapist, together with the alpacas Růženka, Běluška, and Jůlinka, will bring joy, calm, and motivation for the days ahead to the clients, and will become a regular part of their lives.
